Come on in! I'm so glad you're here! I've been hard at work, found some new digs, been rearranging the furniture, painting, redecorating, and it's finally ready..... my brand spanking new web site!
I am so excited to show all of you the new place! Of course it's still me, I'm still passionate about taking photos, and I'm always reaching for better and more, but at the heart of things, the thing that makes me absolutely sing, is storytelling photography. True storytelling, nothing staged or contrived. That's what this new site, and everything you see here, is about. Telling your story.
You know when you look at old snapshots from when you were a kid, how many memories come flooding back? It's like you're right back in that moment. Remembering every last detail, how much everyone has changed, and how they're exactly the same... That's pure magic. That's what I love about what I do. I get to make that magic for people. I get to create a place for people to transport back in time to. To laugh all over again, to wonder at the changes, to share their stories again and again. Rooting through prints, flipping through albums, answering questions from new young ones about their mommas.. "yes they really were that little, and yes they really did do that. Look, you have her eyes." Of course that conversation will happen in the future.. that's the other part of the magic. These are a gift to your future. Your way to make your past come alive to those who haven't even been born yet. It's kinda like your very own TARDIS!
Something else that I'm passionate about, besides documenting moments instead of contriving them, is the power of images in print. Since photography was invented, print has been the best way to preserve images. Think about it. There are prints still in existence from the 1800s! Compare that with electronic technology. 8 track, VHS, and floppy disks, have all fallen by the wayside. CDs and Flash drives won't be far behind. What will happen to those images languishing in digital form from past photo sessions? Right now it's entirely possible that your desktop computer and/or laptop doesn't even have a CD drive. You may very well lose the ability to ever see them again. Not so the printed image.
That's why as you poke around my site, you'll notice something telling. I talk a lot about print. My packages are all about telling your story, and displaying it. Tangible, touchable, view-able print products that you will be proud to show off. Of course I live in the same digital world as you, so every print comes with a digital file.
If you're thinking of photos this year, let's talk! I offer short "Vignette" sessions as well as Full and Half "Day in Your Life" sessions to capture your unforgettable moments. Your life isn't scripted, why should your photos be?
