I've got a confession to make....
I'm uncomfortable having my photo taken. I cringe at the thought of someone taking a less than flattering image of me. The wrinkles. The rolls. ugh.
I hid for a long time behind the lens. I didn't let anyone see me. But then one day I realized, I'm not there. In the many memories I've captured of my kids growing up, I'm not there.
One of the many things I've learned as a parent, and as a mom, is that my kids don't see wrinkles, rolls, muffin tops, double chins, or grey hair. They don't see my insecurities about them. They see their mom. They see the love, security, and the strength that I bring to raising happy, healthy, kind human beings.
If you're asking yourself, what's the value of having documentary style photos taken, this is it. Everything you bring to your role as a parent, every value you share with your children, is worth capturing for their future, and for their future children.
It's an honour for me to be able to help you give this to your family.
